To please a man is through his stomach :D

Random title, I know. Lol!

This is my second year spending the Ramadan away from my home, away from the companionship of my family. Indeed, the experience is different; instead of someone shaking you up in the morning to cook (gah)- you have the alarm blaring, telling you that you have a mere 20 minutes to eat whatever you manage to salvage the night before. Lol.

Okay, it isn't that bad. :p

The food isn't really a problem to me- I'm not usually a picky eater. But after a week of breaking fast alone, I'm starting to develop a very intimate relationship with my room's wall. Eeks.

So if you ask me what I miss most about home, it would be the dinner together. :)

Regardless of how busy my families are, we would always eat dinner together at the same table. It's a sort of tradition. And this is where we tell the lame blonde jokes, complain about the boss, ridicule someone's hair and simply spend the time together.

I'm a person who values conversation, thus I appreciate such details that indirectly loops the group together. :) Communication, in fact, is a human most primal desire.

Not only that but I get to cook at home! I can't believe I'm saying this but I miss being in a kitchen and feed a family. :( Sheesh, I wonder if this is hormonal. If it is, it's probably screaming that I get hitched soon. LOL.

I have not baked in a very long while too, unfortunately I'm only having two weeks break for Raya now. :( Maybe next time. Hmm.

In case anyone is wondering by the way, above is a picture of chopped cincau. :D

The pictures shown here are ingredients I used to make dinner last few nights. :D I spent quite a long time cooking too because it really has been a LONG while since I've cooked anything in a kitchen.

I don't even cook Maggi Mee in my hostel, serious.

Anyway, above are actually minced meat with all the flavorings. :) These are supposed to be the stuffings in my Yong Tau Fu, as shown below.

These are raw by the way! They can either be cooked in thick soy sauce or clear soup. I personally prefer the latter because it holds the taufu's essence better.

They can be serve as a stand alone dish of course and most people would take them with rice but my family are used to take them with our mee. :) As such,

And ta-da! Home made mee soup! :D Nice not? Nice not? Lol.

Two hours after midnight, it officially marks the end of Ramadan and the start of Syawal 2010. To those whom completed a whole month of fasting from food, drinks and desires, congratulations! May you have a hefty green packets by morning. Haha. :p

Last but not least,

HAPPY EID MUBARAK TO ALL MUSLIMS!

I take this chance to ask for forgiveness from everyone whom I may have offended directly or indirectly throughout my lifetime. Thank you for everything to fellow family, friends and readers. :)

With love, xoxo

Have a wonderful and safe festive season! :D Spread love, not hate yea.

2 jars of hope:
