So if you don't follow my twitter or have not heard the recent news, HARIMAUMALAYA (The Malaysian football team) have reign champion in the AFF SUZUKICUP 2010 tonight with an aggregate score of 4 - 2 to Indonesia. :D
With our own Mohd Safee awarded as the top scorer award. :) Congratulations also to Indonesia's player Firman Utina for bagging the Suzuki MVP Award!
Though a lot were rooting for Khairul Fahmi the Malaysian football team goalkeeper to bag a price as well. No doubt he deserves some recognition. The dude managed to be on the Top Trending list on Twitter!
As a Malaysian hell yea I'm damn proud. It was a good game put up by both country, Indonesia was a terrific team to give Malaysia a hard time. ;)
I can point out a lot of frustrating times, and as many say, the team has a long way to go. But they deserve the celebration. :D It has been a long time since Malaysia came near to proving their worth!
Although there was a lot of noise made by the opposing team from the questionable result Malaysia garnered, 3-0 against Indonesia in the 1st leg This was due to the claim that Malaysia had used laser during the match to blind Indonesia's player. Oh um ah.
I admit that I opt to miss out the second half and only watched the re-run so I'm not going to argue on anyone's behalf. I was merely irritated that twitter was used as a platform of abuse. Not to mention Facebook.
BUT Indonesian supporter showed great sportsmanship spirit during when they announced Malaysia as the champion by clapping the team forward and trending 'Congratulations Malaysia'. :)
Indonesian supporters, heart and soul to their football team! Go Garuda!
And that is what sports should be aiming. Unity.
Congratulations Malaysia.
Now lets hope all that fame and glory ain't getting to your head. Rawr.
On a happier note! The PM of Malaysia have declared this coming Friday, 31st December 2010 to be a public holiday in celebration of the victory woohoo!
Well it's not as if it'll affect us as a student. It's still the holidays. T_T Ah well. One can only hope so much. ♥

A statistic taken from the Suzuki Cup official page. Malaysia only appeared as Runner-Up in 1996 and none onwards till now.
